Last year, the CSHA “buzz” was becoming aware of, and accepting that, our methods used for treating autism, were focused on moving the students to “neurotypical” vs. meeting their needs as individuals.

Good intentions, but how do we do this? At this year’s CA state speech conference, there were NINE sessions led by talented professionals with tools! We are so proud of our profession’s willingness to listen to feedback from the autistic community, and are excited to be proactive in our assessments, accommodations, and goals, to strengthen access to the curriculum and create success!
